The highest concern of the Music Ministry must be to identify and participate in the mission of the Church. Music in the Church exists to assist the Christian in his or her spiritual journey.
It is a functional art that serves the pastoral, prophetic, and pedagogical goals of the Church. Congregational singing is really the only indispensable church music. Its goal is to convert unbelief, strengthen faith, and bind together the Christian community. Music in worship is the response of the believer to the revelation of God. The choirs and other musical ensembles exist to give opportunity for those possessing special skills and interest in music to return to God their gifts of music through worship. Their group interaction becomes a redemptive ministry for service and fellowship. Because of the pluralism that exists in every congregation, church music must use a broad range of musical styles in order to meet the needs of this diverse group of Christians. We invite you to participate in the Music Ministry at whatever level you feel God can use you.
