Laurel Heights Youth Center Volunteers
For more than 20 years, San Antonio Youth Centers has been making a difference in the lives of inner-city children, young adults and their family members.

Caring adults are always needed to make the difference, and over the years, the volunteers have made more of an impact than any other contributing group.

Your volunteer time is important and critical to the success of our young people. Without caring adult role models, children are less likely to succeed in school, at home or in the community. When a caring adult is involved regularly in the life of a child, that child is more likely to develop his or her own inner strengths and fulfill his or her maximum potential.

Make a difference today. Give away your most valuable asset – time. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one hour per week and at least one year of service.  These children and youth experience a lot of transition in their lives. They need stable, caring adults to commit to them. There are a number of volunteer opportunities available.

To start, you must complete a volunteer application, a criminal background check and provide 3 references. Additionally, if you drive on behalf of the Center, you must submit a Motor Vehicle Record and proof of valid auto insurance.

A volunteer orientation is required of all new volunteers. Periodic training is also required.

An evaluation of each group activity or session conducted is also expected of each Learning Center volunteer.

Call (210) 735-6234 for an application or click here to see how God could use your gifts, talents, and willing heart to help these young people.
